    Another great championship weekend to conclude the 2016-2017 house league season. Congratulations to our champions.  Novice, Atom, PeeWee and Bantam champs move on to compete in the Queen of the House tournament April 8th and 9th.

    HOUSE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND RESULTS

    Our House League celebrated the end of the 2016-2017 Season with a Championship weekend filled with 23 hockey games and fun team events!

    All our divisions played consolation, semi-final and final games and some teams even enjoyed a year-end celebration!  Visit the photo gallery and our Facebook Page showcasing team photos, committed community sponsors and coaching spirit!  

    The BGHC extends a huge thank you to the Head Coaches that stepped up this year to make this all possible. Thank you to the parents and all of the support staff, assistant coaches and trainers that volunteered this year to support women's hockey.

    NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

    The Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) of the Burlington Girls Hockey Club (“BGHC”)  will be held Tuesday, May 16th at 7 PM at the Haber Community Centre  in the Haber Community  Room #2 West.  Registration for members attending the meeting will commence at 6:30 PM so please arrive early to allow the meeting to commence on time.  

    The following Director positions are up for election at the AGM this year:

    1. President – 2-year term
    2. VP Hockey Operations – 2-year term
    3. VP Business – 1 year term to fill vacancy
    4. Director of House League #1 – 1 year term – NEW position this year
    5. Director of House League #2 – 2-year term
    6. Director of Promotion and Communications – 2-year term
    7. Director of Equipment and Player Safety – 2-year term – NEW position this year
    8. Director of Fundraising – 2-year term

    Nomination Process

    Please find attached the duties and responsibilities of the above roles.  Please submit nominations to admin@bghc.ca using the attached form.  Nominations will close as of midnight on May 9, 2017.  Where multiple nominees are received, they will be contacted the following day and will be informed as to the number (not names) of other nominees and that if they wish, they can request time to address the membership prior to the vote on the evening of the meeting.  Nominees will have a maximum of 2 minutes to speak.  Nominees can withdraw once contacted, if they prefer.

    The draft agenda is attached and will be finalized once nominations close.  


     NEW FOR 2017

    QUEEN OF THE HOUSE CHAMPIONS TOURNAMENT

    APRIL 8TH AND 9TH

    We are excited to announce that the BGHC has been invited to join in on a “champion of champions” house league event.  This event is being organized by Central York Girls Hockey Association (home of the Aurora Panthers) and will be a great experience for our house league champions.  Our Novice, Atom, PeeWee and Bantam champions from House League Championship Day will go on to represent the BGHC in an 8-team, single knock-out,  “Queen of the House” tournament to be held April 8th and 9th.  There will be NO COST to our teams for participation, the BGHC is paying the cost of this event.  Participating teams are from the following associations:  Aurora, Burlington, Clarington, Durham West, Etobicoke, Leaside, Mississauga and Oakville.

    SUPPORTING MULTI-SPORT ATHLETES IN BURLINGTON

    Looking for a spring/summer activity for your young, female hockey player? The Burlington Amateur Softball Association is offerring U6 to U10 softball programs for boys and girls and U12 to U18 for girls.
